About Us

Health Ministries for Haiti, Inc.’s mission is to “work side-by-side with our Haitian brothers and sisters to educate, empower and equip communities to reach and maintain the highest level of physical and spiritual well-being.”  Since the initial medical mission in June of 2006, Health Ministries for Haiti, Inc. has successfully incorporated in the State of Wisconsinand has earned 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service.,

Health Ministries for Haiti, Inc. has collaborated with a local pharmacy and MAP International, Inc. to supply the clinic with vital medications.  The organization has also enjoyed monetary support as well as donations of supplies and medications from: Meriter Hospital (Madison WI), Sharing Resources Worldwide, Inc. (Madison WI), Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin, Inc., and St Luke’s Hospital (Milwaukee WI) as well as numerous churches in Madison and south-central Wisconsin .  These donations coupled with on-going individual donations and fundraising activities made it possible for Health Ministries for Haiti, Inc. to conduct 2 additional medical missions since June of 2006 during which over 1200 clinic visits were recorded and 46 Haitian nationals (6 healthcare professionals, 10 interpreters and 30 lay persons) were employed.  The organization was also able to pay for registration fees for two team members to travel to Canada and participate in a five day training sponsored by  Pure Water for the World, Inc.

These team members were then able to subsequently provide this training to the community health workers in Haiti .

The organization is chaired by a public health nurse completing a masters degree in nursing as well as a Global Health Certificate from the University of Wisconsin at Madison .    The organization has procured the services of a certified public accountant to ensure all necessary filings are completed.  The Board of Directors represents a multidisciplinary team of healthcare and non-healthcare professionals, all of whom have participated in numerous missions to Haiti .
